Full Time or Part Time Retail Sales Associate

The Basics:

Responsible for creating sales utilizing exceptional customer service and knowledge of the products available at Home Furniture Co. Strive to create long-term customer relationships for a positive customer experience. Develop awareness of interior design through practical experience, observation and interaction. In addition, assist designing and creating comfortable and functional environments that represent a client’s lifestyle, taste and budget.

Minimum Requirements

Full Time Flooring Sales Consultant

What You Will Do

All Home Furniture Co employees deliver quality customer service while maintaining a store that is clean and safe. As a Sales Flooring Consultant, this means: Being friendly and professional, eager to understand the customer’s specific needs in order to pair the best products and service offerings in support of their project. Ensuring displayed merchandise reflects our high standards of showroom readiness, operates as intended during demonstrations, and is up to date, accurately mirroring the manufacturers current product offering. Engaging in safe work practices including the proper operation of store equipment. The Sales Flooring Consultant serves as an expert, explaining the specifications and features of a product or service to existing or potential customers, with the goal of closing a sale. This associate provides exceptional consultative services to customers and confirms their needs are met before leaving the store. The Sales Specialist Flooring is also responsible for executing orders and projects, scheduling in-home flooring measures, and taking the customer through the full sales cycle.

What We’re Looking For

Hourly Full Time: Generally scheduled 39 to 40 hours per week, respectively; more hours may be required based on the needs of the store. Requires morning, afternoon and evening availability any day of the week. Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties. Minimally must be able to lift 25 pounds without assistance; may lift over 25 pounds with or without assistance. Flooring experience a plus. Home Furniture Co is willing to train the ideal candidate.

General Office Clerk

We are looking for a competent Office Clerk to perform various administrative and clerical tasks to support our office. You will undertake a variety of activities in the office ranging from filing and answering the phone to basic bookkeeping.

An effective office clerk has the ability to work diligently to help maintain smooth office operations. You must be reliable and hardworking with great communication skills. The ideal candidate will also be familiar with office equipment, able to work in a retail environment, efficient in microsoft excel, and able to work in multiple locations.

Flooring Installer

Installs flooring by planning and preparing installations; cutting, placing, and seaming materials when necessary; resolving customer concerns; maintaining safe working conditions; maintaining records.


Plans carpet/flooring installations by reviewing installation orders; studying scale drawing; determining carpet/flooring quantities, quantities per dye lot, roll sequence, pattern alignment, edge treatments, adhesives, moldings, and seaming; coordinating schedules with customers.

* Prepares for carpet/flooring installations by gathering equipment, supplies, and tools; retrieving carpets/flooring from storage; inspecting carpets/flooring for damage; following proper carpet/flooring handling guidelines.

* Installs carpet/flooring by determining and adjusting temperature and humidity; examining, correcting, and preparing subfloor conditions; unrolling and relaxing carpeting; laying-out and cutting materials; aligning pile and pattern; trimming and sealing seam edges; applying adhesives and tackstrips; stretching carpets; completing finishes at wall lines; installing transition moldings.

* Cleans-up installation by removing scraps; vacuuming/mopping floors.

* Obtains customer approval by resolving questions during installation; listening to and correcting customer’s concerns; obtaining signatures.

* Maintains customer rapport by answering questions.

* Maintains safe work environment by following safe practices; eliminating hazards; adhering to codes, regulations, and standards; maintaining ventilation.

* Maintains records by documenting installation.

* Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.

* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading manufacturers’ publications.

* Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
